20 February 2020, London, UK: Darabase, the property registry and platform to monetise Augmented Reality (AR) permissions in the physical world, joins Appear Here, the leading marketplace for retail space, as part of their Additions service.
The retail industry is undergoing significant change with an increasing focus on how experiences can be delivered to shoppers in store. Research from Westfield recently showed that shoppers now expect 40% of retail space to be given over to experiences. This will grow to 59% by 2025. Currently 45% of shoppers want branded inspiration in store and 42% want more creative experiences. Appear Here and Darabase have looked at these trends and delivered a simple way for retailers to deliver AR experiences to improve shoppers visits.
Darabase enables Appear Here’s brands and clients to serve their own AR content on the property they rent as part of their campaign. Darabase can enable a wide range of exciting new AR experiences, for example bringing physical goods to life in the window and enabling online purchase when the physical store is closed. Indeed empty units can now be fully fitted out virtually and in one retail space a women’s, men’s and children’s range “stocked” depending on the choices consumers make in the space.
Dominic Collins, Darabase CEO said,
“A lot is written about the death of the High Street. AR offers an exciting opportunity for retailers to explore how they can engage, delight and sell to their customers digitally in the physical store and environment.
Appear Here are changing the way retail is managed. This forward looking approach marries fantastically well with the rise in GeoAR, or AR displayed on the physical world, which is at the heart of the Darabase proposition and enabled by our unique AR technology. We look forward to delivering many exciting brand partnerships together.”
