As part of this year’s Christmas campaign, McDonald’s UK were looking for new and innovative ways to celebrate the little things that make this time of year special. Augmented reality was the perfect choice to create a fun and interactive experience for McDonald’s customers, letting them decorate their local restaurant with virtual lights, reindeer, trees and snowmen. Darabase partnered with OMD and Leo Burnett UK to produce the AR experience.
Users can decorate McDonald’s restaurants or their own homes with the festive DecoARations and then capture a photo including their loved ones in the Christmas scene to share with friends on social media. Darabase integrated content moderation tools to ensure that photographs are appropriate before they can be shared.
