Grosvenor partners with Darabase to look at the Future of Retail using webAR and HoloLens technology at start-up event

As part of their Social Shopping Experience Startup Challenge event, Grosvenor wanted attendees to experience in augmented reality how the high street has evolved and might develop in the future.

By utilising green screen technology, Darabase created an immersive experience which featured a hologram narrator supplemented by AR animations to really bring the narrative and future retail concepts to life.

QR codes placed around the event encouraged guests to engage with the experience on their own devices. There was also the opportunity to try the AR experience on Microsoft HoloLens headsets. Users could place a hologram in front of them and interact with the experience using hand gestures.

The event which was held at Grosvenor’s head office in Mayfair and focussed on new technology solutions for retailers.  As part of the event, Darabase also showcased their recent work for Belgravia in Bloom and Mayfair. Plus, there was a chance to speak with Darabase’s Business Development Director, Daniel Bowen who spent time with attendees throughout the day explaining the positive impact this technology is having on retailers and how bricks and mortar businesses can amplify their shopper experience using AR.
